Bottnansmåla Gård has been run by the same family since 1730. Surrounded by forest, meadows and pastures, the farm offers a calm rural experience. Cattle and horses are grazing during summer, and fallow deers can be seen throughout the year in a large enclosure next to your house. Our farm-cat Tilda is often around to meet and greet our guests.
The different buildings on the farm have been renovated, and we’ve been laying out a kitchen-garden in the process. Roses and lavender now grow just around the corner and create a florishing environment – with colours and scents, bees and bumble-bees.
Our farm-shop offers venison sausage and deli-products, made from wild game, lamb and pork. As well as sweet delicacies like honey, marmelade, jam and chocolate. You’ll get to know a wide range of local food-craft, typical for our region Blekinge.
My idea with a farmstay at our place is for you to enjoy nature’s calm that surrounds our small hamlet. You have the chance to finally relax, take long walks and experience the seasons through flora and fauna. But even to explore the vincinity with day-trips and activities.
In Blekinge, almost everything is close-by. From our farm you reach Karlskrona and the sea within 25 minutes. The city is home to a world heritage site that displays Karlskronas unique history. Other places of interests, as well as golf-courses and lakes are within short range from Bottnansmåla Gård.
My name is Ingela, and I manage the farm as 8th generation. It is me you meet you when you first arrive, and you can adress me any time during your stay. Your holiday-home is the old farm-house “Gårdshuset”, which has been made accessible to the disabled – as far as the construction allows. We built ramps to both entrances and made the indoor-passages broader (1m) expect for one door to the guest-WC. Instead of tresholds at the doors we tried to construct small ramps. You might find some tresholds still at the front-doors and the bathroom.
In 2022, two new cabins have been established on our farm: Södra and Norra Lillstugan. They are tiny houses (10 m2 each) that suits single travelers or couples for a night or two. Enjoy your own veranda situated right in front of the deer enclosure. The bathroom and kitchen as well as washing machine are only 40 metres away, accessible for you in the main-houses cellar.
With best regards,
Ingela Johansson
